ABOUT THE EIGS
Heather and Jason Eig are lifelong residents of the DC metropolitan area. Natives of Montgomery County, Maryland, the couple raised their three children in Rockville. The Eigs have always been actively involved in the music and arts culture of Washington, DC.
Jason attended Georgetown University and Georgetown University Law Center and is a Real Estate and Finance Partner at Blank Rome LLP in its Washington, D.C. office. When he's not in the office, he can often be found on the golf course, playing guitar, or at a concert or Broadway show with Heather.
Heather attended the University of Maryland for both undergraduate and graduate schools and works as a K-12 School Counselor in Montgomery County Public Schools. She is also a certified Yoga Instructor and Executive Functioning Coach. After surviving a Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (brain bleed), Heather & their daughter Madeline became active with Alliance for Headache Disorders Advocacy, meeting with members of Congress to advocate for research and funding.
The Eig children are passionate about the arts. Brendan played clarinet in his high school marching band and now plays bass guitar in several college ensembles in Boston. From jazz to rock to blues to go-go, Brendan's range of musical genres is vast; his knowledge of music impressive. As a young child, Zach rarely found an instrument that didn't pique his interest. He played piano, flute, drums, guitar, and french horn, to name a few. Zach played mellophone in the marching band before spending a year abroad in England & Italy, where he had the opportunity to study theatre in the West End of London. Madeline's love of dance is undeniable: tap, hip hop, ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary, and poms. Whether performing, choreographing, or teaching, Madeline's artistic energy is unmatched.
The Eigs have a commitment to community outreach, advocacy, and social action. They regularly volunteer with local organizations and support the growth of the arts, dance, and music. No matter how busy their schedules become, they always make time for service, including active involvement with Kids for Kids Fund, The Giving Square, No Place For Hate, Special Olympics Montgomery County, HeadCount, Comfort Cases, KindWorks, and the Live Music Challenge.
Heather's and Jason's children took their passion for community service to the next level. Brendan, Zachary, and Madeline each completed dozens of charitable projects over the past several years as they each prepared for their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs and continue to make time to volunteer. Their collective effort inspired their parents to create this foundation and tie together their family’s love of music and the arts with their efforts to give back to the community.
Heather and Jason founded Eigs of the World Foundation to provide opportunities and financial assistance to children in need, in hopes of sharing their family’s passion for music and the arts.
Donations raised will benefit other 501(c)(3) charitable organizations who look to provide similar opportunities and financial assistance to children in need.
